Interests

My professional life has encompassed most of my passions.  I still like what I do, though I confess it sometimes is a grind.  At work, I indulge in writing, software development and other acts of creation.

When not doing strictly paid activities, I listen to classical music, Jethro Tull, and the standard pop/rock fare that plagues North American middle aged former yuppie baby boomers.  I had said to check out Napster or something similar to find the usual suspects, but they are now defunct. Let me know if you find something really good that took its place.

I did for many years 'play' the flute.  I was dreadful.  This is not false modesty.  In recent years, I have been trying (with slightly more success) to learn to play the piano.  I'm still pretty awful, but now I actually enjoy it and can see that someday I might suck less.  I've always really loved music and have wanted to compose little tunes.  At least now I can pick them out on the piano for my own amusement...

Update to the above -- I'm still playing the piano and I'm really enjoying it. I truly feel I will someday not suck at it.

Many moons ago, I used to do some woodworking.  I actually sold a few things before I packed it in.  I'm still pretty interested in this stuff, but I'm too chicken to mess with power tools anymore.  I need these delicate hands to ply my trade.

When I'm in town in Brockville, I frequently hang out at the Brockville Club where I play pool (8 ball only) and have the occasional refreshment.

Bob and Kayla

In the last few years, I have been absolutely blessed to have the company of my new best friend (seen here with her proud dad).

Kayla and I enjoy walks through our lovely town, biking, skating and just hanging out and discovering the world.

Update: Guess what? We had another one! Megan. I will eventually get a picture of her up here. She's already a year and a half old. Time flies.
